Contour Countess

Welcome back all to my last installment of my Colourpop goodies is final here. And it’s all about the highlighters how could anyone not buy there highlighters. So naturally I picked up two off their super shock highlighters in Whipped and Wisp I will say they look mighty pretty.

The packaging for the highlighters is exactly the same as their eye shadow packaging if you want full details check that post out, Ill add the links below. I won’t bore you with these details again so let’s get in to it shall we.

Whipped :
It looks so pretty in the pan with its marble effect I honestly didn’t want to touch it as it looked so pretty. The shade its self is a soft nude like pink, the product to touch is silky soft with the common mouse like texture that I have noticed through the super shock range. This one defiantly has shimmer through it I cannot detect any large chunks of glitter which is great for anyone who does not like chunky or overly glitter highlighters. Application with fingers is a must. I did struggle with applying this with a brush I felt that it really brakes the product up on the skin and makes it apply choppy.
Wisp :
This one is like a nude gold very shimmery and I cannot detect any glitter in it also, so that’s fantastic. I did find this one the products is a little softer then whipped, not to sure why that is still the Formula is the mouse like texture again but it feels softer. One thing I have noticed with this one the product has started to come away from the edges and sadly it’s starting to crumble and I haven’t dropped this product at all and it hasn’t been chucked in to my hand bag ether it has just been sitting around on my dresser.

My overall thoughts on both of these highlighters are exactly the same. Both are pigmented I will not question this for a second at all. When I first applied them they looked absolutely stunning with the overall highlighter on fleek look. Both products apply so beautifully with your fingers and when you look in the mirror for me they both really do give of this really gorgeous naturally glow which I so loved. Sadly it didn’t stay like that for long. The product really sat and collected in my tiny fine little skin textured lines. And the product went all powdery as well and this is when I was wearing them with foundation and also with no makeup at all. It was really disappointing and I have never had a cream product do that before, well I have had one other product do that before. So for me these were a real disappointment and defiantly two products that I will never wear again nor will I ever purchase again. I’m starting to think if there is an age bracket that has not been spoken about with this brand being 32 I honestly don’t think this brand is for me and I can honestly say I will not be repurchasing. I would love to know if any other 30 years olds have had a great experience with this brand, leave your comments below.

Until next time,

Love CC xoxo

Welcome back everyone to my little Colourpop series. I will be sharing my thoughts on the Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks. As I wanted to purchase a little something from each area of the Colourpop range I thought I would give these ago. And I did read a few bloggers thoughts on the Matte range and they sounded really matte to me. So thought the Ultra satin ones might be more my pace. Now let’s get in to the details shall we. I won’t bore you this time with an intro.

Packaging

I’m not here to really talk about the packaging what you see is what you get really. It’s the same packaging across the whole range. The plastic it’s not overly cheap and flimsy. If there is anything I don’t like and that is the holographic writing on the packaging as it is quite hard to read in some lighting situations. And also hard to get it to show up on camera and it’s really easy for it to rub off. I have just had these sitting around my house form the time of purchase and the writing is starting to fade away. I was expecting the packaging to be very cheaper then what it is to be honest. I do like the foam applicator tip its pretty standard it applies the product well like it should. I have had worse applicator tips on more expensive products. So I was quiet impressed

Colourpop – Love Muffin

When I saw this shade in the tube and swatched it I loved it, honestly thought it could be my perfect nude. It looks like it would be a nude and when you swatch it, it looks like a nude. Until I applied it, It shows up very light pink on my lips which is okay I can live with it as a day / work shade. It does have great staying power with a little touch up at lunch and I’m good for the afternoon. I do find this one a little drying on my lips compared to Lyin king. I guess the bonus with this one being so light you don’t tend to notice it if it is bleeding at all. The down fall to this one though is that it does sit and collect a little in to the lines of my lips. Which is sad I had really high hopes for this one. It’s still okay to wear just the drying effect for me is a little annoying.
Colourpop – Lyin King

For me this would be a deep pink with a red undertone, and these shades always speak to me. Give me a deep pink/red any day of the week and ill scream for it. To be honest most of my lip collection is filed with these pink red shades. I applied this at about 8.00am in the morning and it applied quite well. It went on smoothly I did let it dry and apply a second layer to it. No balling and it didn’t turn out patchy ether. There was no need to question the pigment, It was there checked on it at about 10am in the morning and there was no fade and no bleeding no cracks or balling everything seemed to be looking fine and on point. As this is the satin formula I do find it to sit a little on the matte side which is perfect very comfortable on the lips as well. No over dry feeling which is a win for me as I do tend to pick at my lips when that happens it’s a real bad habit.

So after 8 hours I totally forgot that I had it on, it did look like it pretty much wore of around the insides of my mouth I did noticed that it’s now clinging to some dry patches on my lips. For me I’m quite happy with wearing this to work , I’m not the type to sit there and baby sit my lipsticks so to be able to put one application on and forget about it is great. And I felt like this is one of them that can survive trough my work day. If there is anything I don’t like is the high transfer and moveability of this product I wouldn’t trust myself to wear this on a girls night out I would end up looking like the joker.
Colourpop - London Fog
London fog is a real red, with a slight blue under tone it is a shade that I do tend to lean towards when buying red lipsticks. Again It is defiantly pigmented it’s not a sheer red at all. When applying it applies so smoothly and easily you can even go over it with another and it want ball or go patchy. Wear wise it looked pretty perfect for the first hour of wear but after the two hour mark it started to bleed and it just got a little worse with each hour that goes by. Once lunch time came around reapplication had to be done due to eating. I did happen to come home for dinner and shit got real. My lipstick was all over my face it had moved while eating. It was everywhere but my lips. For me I cannot trust this lipstick I’m not too sure if I would wear it again to be honest it is already deemed untrustworthy in my books and the bleeding wasn’t a good look ether.

To me I feel like I got two good products out of three , And I’m starting to wonder if it really is worth purchasing Colourpop product’s I’m starting to find their products like a lucky dip for kids. You pay 5 dollars and you ether get a cute toy ring or a crappy eraser.
I will not wear London fog again due to the movability of this products and if I did ever wear it again it would only be for a very short period of time with no eating involved. Again Love muffin I have worn to work and will continue to do so and the same with Lyin King. These two I’m happy with.

Now when it comes to purchasing any lip products by colour pop I’ll have to be honest and say I think this will be it for me. Only from trial and error point of view and from a 32 year old point of view. I’m not a diehard fan and I’m not really over the moon screaming it form the roof tops in love with anything I have used as yet. I would love to know your thoughts on any Lip products you have purchased form colourpop ? Leave them below. In the comments section

Until next time Love CC xoxo

Welcome back ladies, as you can tell I have been busy putting my thoughts through on the colour pop brand and products. When I entail did my order at the first start of this year I wanted to get a broad idea on their products without going extremely overboard, just in case and by doing that I purchased three products from their main Range. This blog post is focusing on their Super shock eyeshadows. Now I could brake it down by shades which I will do just so you can get an idea of the texture and shade’s that I chose so in the super shadows I purchased Nillionaire and prickly pear and Reversible
Let’s touch base on packaging just quickly now its standard white packaging across the normal range. I find their packaging not to flimsy at all pretty sturdy really for the price tag. A little chunky so I’m not too sure if you would want to travel with this at all to be honest.

Reversible :
I chose this shade as I felt like it would be pretty useable something I could just chuck on by its self-use too highlight the inner eye to brow bone. Not the colour it’s self So to me it’s like a champagne shade so its gold with a beige undertone it’s more of a shimmer the finish as per their website is stated pearlized ,And I say that’s pretty spot on. The products is very nice to touch it is a cream in my books very bouncy to touch like a mouse consistency it has that air like feel too it. Application wise I suggest fingers as it does apply so well. Brush application not so much you don’t get the coverage you do with your fingers. This one was my favourite to use it was very easy to apply and it did stay to a point throughout the day the only issue I had with this one was settling in to the cresses of my eyes. It was perfect as a brow high light though.

Nillionaire :

I purchased this one for the dark gold factor I am obsessed and I have a few powder eyeshadow in this shade range that I thought would complement this one well. The shade to me is like an antique gold. This one is an ultra-glitter formula. And the pigment is well represented and the product is again cream and bouncy to touch. And you can see the glitter in it. Again finger application highly suggested again. This one was a really shame though as the colour didn’t fade throughout the day I did have the major issue of this one too ceasing really badly and settling in those cresses through out the day. And the fall out was even worse for some reason on this one too. The weird thing was when I was applying it there was no fall out at all but as it wore throughout the day it was casing fall out.

Prickly Pear:

This is a shade I wouldn’t usually go for but I did it has the lovely purple golden shade I really do love it again this one is an ultra-glitter. You can see the glitter in this one to. Again cream consistency but I do find this one not as bouncy as the others it does seem that little bit firmer than the other two. Again finger application is preferred. This one applies like a dream as state below in my overall thoughts. This one was one of the worst for me it fades straight away and one leaves remints of glitter. Through out the day as the products was disappearing it was dispersing the left over glitter to fall out over my face.

Packaging and product alone I was overwhelmed with how lovely and again pigmented and workable all three eyeshadows were. So don’t get me wrong with I am not debating that. Okay here comes the fun part. My honest impression. Okay this is where I may come of a little bitchy but hey I purchased all these products with my own money. I had nothing but issues while wearing this, No issue with application just there wear alone.

All these shadows you wouldn’t even need to debate the pigmentation it is there no questions ask. Application of all these ones above are honestly a breeze but to be honest your best to apply this with your fingers as stated I found this to be more effect way and easier then eyes shadow brushes’ When I did use eye shadow brush application wasn’t as pigmented and slightly awkward for some reason. With fingers the product just glides on to your skin with easy. So use your fingers ladies

I can’t understand how application and product is such a dream to work with especially for a cream product All three shadows creased in my eye lids and that’s including the times I used a primmer. Both ultra-glitter ones had fall out during the day and glitter would fall all over my face, I had the two main colour ones Prickly Pear and Nillionaire they both faded throughout the day I was left with no colour just left over glitter on my eyelids and all over my face.

So as I wanted to get wear out of these I decided to try them off as a base , As an eye shadow base they work okay but again the supper shock shadows still crease in my eyes and cause fall out. And that is me using my naked eye shadow pallets. And those powders alone never crease in my eyes nor do they fall out. So I can say that it’s the supper shock shadows that do not work for me at all. I don’t see myself using these guys again I’m just happy that they are cheeps o this will just sit in my makeup draw for the time being collecting dust. And that would mean there is no chance I’ll be purchasing these or any other shadows form the Colourpop range. Please tell me you have had a way better experience with the Colourpop eye shadow range? Comment below.

Until next time
