Contour Countess

Hello beautiful people,  I could sit down and review this palette, but it’s been on the market for so long now there really isn’t much point to go through swatching and talking about all the eye shadows individually. There is endless amounts of review’s out there. I thought instead of a review maybe a little in depth conversation about my thoughts on this pallet.

Now I did come to the game pretty late on this one but everyone raves about it so highly and apparently it is a must have for any makeup collector too makeup junkie out there. As I’m a makeup junkie self confessed of course. I have had some serious FOMO with this palette. Now if you haven’t noticed I’m a die hard urban decay girl ill drop anything and everything for a new naked release any day of the week.

Now to be quite honest with you the very first time I used it I was getting ready for a party and I was doing my makeup and I needed a dark brown so I thought why not give that too faced pallet ago. So I did and I was in full remorse mode. The mattes were not to my liking they were not pigmented enough, blending them was okay but they were coming out really choppy. IT does take a few attempts to build up the mattes for a smokey look.

So from that moment it sat in my draw for another four months until I picked it up again. With the pending release of the new Too face chocolate bar gold pallet I thought to myself why not give it another shot. So I focused on using the shimmer shades more.
My initial thought’s to myself for the week were there is no way in hell I could travel with just this pallet, I would need to back it up with another one.

The shimmer shadows alone are a lot better then the mattes, they have pigment payoff. I haven't had a issue with blending them. From my experience I think you can blend your eye shadow to oblivion though for the light shimmer shades. I personally haven't noticed much fall out with the lighter shade's, It does happen with the darker shimmers though.

For me being a 32 year old this pallet isn’t exactly the best of the best, I can’t really create a full look out of this one pallet alone and when will I ever use the strawberry bon bon shade?. I did create a lovely halo eye look using gilded Ganache and crème brulee. And for work I have been getting in to the Marzipan and hazelnut shades with a hint of Haute chocolate. They are the only shades i reach for in this palette.

My overall thoughts so far is it’s not a palette I would go overboard and brag about and recommend to everyone. And it’s certainly not a palette I would stock in my makeup kit for jobs, like the urban decay naked palettes that are cult classic for any bridal makeup. I would totally gift this pallet to a teenage girl getting in to make up for the first time or even gift it to my daughter if and when she turns to makeup. I think this is a fabulous little starter palette for sure and I do recommend it for the younger people out there. And to be honest I will not be getting the semi-sweet palette I think this one is enough.

And just to close out i am officially a sucker for punishments as I have gone ahead and purchased the Too faced chocolate gold palette so stay posted for the that review. Let me know what your thoughts are with the Original chocolate bar palette please comment below

Until next time
Love CC xoxo

I really went back and forwards thinking to my self if this is a product I should review or not.  It is a splurge and even to me this bronzer really does have a pretty expensive price tag to it. By no means is this item affordable and to be honest none of the products in the Tom ford beauty Range are really affordable. I just want to establish yes I could have used the money for severely makeup products but I have been lusting over this bronzer for so long. Yes I purchased it when Sephora had one of their sales I think it was a 10 percent of store wide sale, So that’s the only way I was going to justify buying this product.

Let’s talk packaging now, seeing this online compared to in my hands now and the price tag on this puppy. I will admit I was slightly disappointed in the packaging. Now when I did see this pictured and the price tag. I was kind off under the impression it was somewhat metal. It’s so not what I thought the packaging was going to be its 100 percent Plastic. Yep all of it plastic, for the price its prey cheap feeling plastic too. I’m always going to be a sucker for the colour combo though even though white makeup packing does scare me but it is easy to wipe down. The outer edges are gold and the clip enclosure does have the tom ford name which is a nice elegant touch. The edge where you think it is the clip enclosure is not a clip, it’s closed by a magnet. So that was a little bit of trickery right there.

Product wise there is no disappointment at all, the product is so buttery and smooth there is no kick back when you place your brush in to the product. The shade I purchased was in Gold dust not too sure how this name came about as the undertone is more of a slight terracotta which gives of this natural glow to your skin. There is absolutely no shimmer to it ether. The product alone is really nice to apply as it gives you this nice wash of sun kissed colour. You can easily builded it up if you want to I did try this but it did make me look a little like an umpa lumpa So in this instance and yes this quote is coming out of my mouth right now “ less is more “It looks as lovely in the pan as it does on. This is one bronzer that wears beautify on me it doesn’t oxides in to an orange colour throughout the day, and it doesn’t go patchy ether. I really love the wear on this bronzer.

Tom Ford Bronzer in Gold Dust swatch as above
Now to be completely honest I wish I brought the smaller version for $105 Australian dollars, I feel this larger size compact is way too much. It is way over the top and due to the larger size compact it’s not something that I would love to have rolling around in my hand bag and not a product I would like to travel with. By all means this was a complete splurge and yes I do have a little regret with this purchase as I’m sure there is a fabulous dupe out there for this product.

So if I had to repurchase I would get the smaller one to be honest or for anyone who is lusting over it as much as I did. I highly suggest the smaller one compared to the Jumbo size version that I purchased.

If anyone is aware of a dupe for this bonzer? Please comment below I would love to try it out.

Until next time Love CC xoxo

Welcome back to the blog again a very exciting store has opened up in my very own shopping center. For once I have something different and cool, we officially have The abnormal Company opening up a little Pop up shop in the Canberra Center. I have being eyeing of some Niod products for ages. And I just couldn’t wait to get down there and have a play with all their products. I really wanted to get down and see what all the fuss was all about with The Ordinary foundations. Now there had to be a fuss since there was a waiting list right.

Now we all know that I did not have any success with their last products that I had purchased from the ordinary, but hey this is make up. I could not pass up the chance on buying The Ordinary Serum Foundation for 12.50 that doesn’t even cover the cost of my lunch that I purchased that day.

Let’s get in to it shall we, Today I’ll be talking about the Ordinary Serum Foundation and yes of course I purchased both foundations, you will have to wait till next week to hear my thoughts on the Converge foundation this one will be coming soon.

Let’s chat about the packing, both foundations are in the exact same packing a little durable plastic bottle and its really durable you can feel it. It has all matte finish and the dispenser is a pump! Yes all makeup junkies love a pump foundation. I have found that when I have pumped the excess product does tend to drip down the pump neck. And with makeup and matte rubber like packing we all know it’s hard to keep clean. the bottle is little and light weight it would be great for chucking in your hand bag or even traveling with it as it wouldn’t take up much room.

The next most important thing is application, when I purchased this the sales assistant did advise me that applying this serum foundation with your fingers is recommended. So I didn’t try anything other than my fingers. I did what they said and applied this one with fingers only and I have to say it worked. Applying it with my fingers did take a little longer just to ensure it was all buffed in to the skin and even. It really did work the trick though. I got a nice even coverage and this one did not make the pores look noticeable.

I used this foundation through a standard work week and I have to say I was so disappointed in the staying power of this one. It did ware off but it was more of a fade off effect. But it was more like a now you see me and 3 hours later now you don’t. I barely got three hours wear and that’s using the suggested ordinary primer as well.

Sadly i am really disappointed in the longevity of this product. The aftermath of wearing this foundation has done nothing but brake me out I have struggled with sore big acne after using this range that it has taken me two weeks to calm things down. Which has made things a little hard again I know it has something to do with ether this range / brand as I have not added anything new in my skincare regime and I know that some foundations do cause me to break out after three days of wear but usually with thicker and fuller coverage foundation.

I will keep this foundation for now and I will retire it to only weekend wear when I need a foundation to wear when running to the shops and for when I know that I’m only going be wearing a foundation for no more than three hours.

I would love to know your thoughts on the Ordinary Serum foundation if you have tried it or maybe you have been thinking about getting it, please comment below.

Until Next time
